Open Studio days
- Come on by and see how a print is made, watch the press in action, or make your own print by hand, from one of our blocks or yours. David will demonstrate how he makes woodcut prints, by hand as well as on the press. You’re welcome to watch and ask all the questions you want, for free, or make some simple prints yourself.
Open studio days are every Wednesdays afternoon. Free and open to everyone - come on in and bring your friends!
- We’re also offering day-long workshops to design, carve, and print linoleum or wood blocks, on the first Saturday of the month. Workshops will run from 10 am till 5 pm (brown bag or other lunch break; we’re right next door to the Live Edge Deli!). Space is limited to 6 participants at a time so David can work with everyone individually as needed. If you have a design in mind or a block already started, come on in and get it printed! If you’ve never done a woodcut before, we’ll start with the design and move on through the process until you have a beautiful print of it. It's easy to start with single-color prints, and you can also work on making multi-color prints if you're interested. It’s entirely possible to design, carve, and print a simple block in one day - have no fear! On the other hand, if you have some printmaking experience or more ambitious ideas, you’re welcome to come to as many workshops as you like, or even come in and work in the studio independently once you know your way around.
Workshop fee of $60 includes a wood or linoleum block, paper, ink, and use of carving tools. Additional materials, including blocks and carving tool sets, are available for purchase if desired. Workshops are primarily by reservation since we need to provide for space and materials. Drop us a line at email@example.com, call us at 844-3770, or send us a message on Facebook or via our website (www.greenlionart.com).
In a nutshell, here’s the schedule again:

We’re also making the studio and equipment, including the press, available to qualified printmakers by reservation, just let us know when. Fees are $10 per hour or $50 per day (10 to 5, or other hours by arrangement).
